LANSING - Republican Lawmakers in Lansing say they’re trying to put money back in your wallet. A bill to decrease taxes passed the House Finance Committee Tuesday. It would reduce the state income tax from 4.25% to 4.05%.  Proponents say the bill would put money in the pockets of Michiganders and small business owners.  The motion passed 9-3, with two abstentions.  The vote was along party lines, with Republicans in favor and Democrats against.  The bill now goes to the full House for a vote.  On average, legislators say the bill would give $140 back to Michigan residents.
