GOGEBIC COUNTY - Grant funding from the Michigan Dept. of Labour and Economic Opportunity has been awarded to four organizations in the Upper Peninsula. The grant program originates from the Office of Rural Prosperity, which provides resources to communities facing economic challenges. The Gogebic Range Health Foundation will get $50,000 to develop a plan for a multi-purpose community center in Gogebic County to address childcare shortages, economic disparities and service gaps. The Beaver Island Association, Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District and UPCAP have also received funding. Lt. Gov.
