BESSEMER – In information released yesterday an Iron County man has been sentenced in Gogebic County Court after being convicted on drug charges.  45-year-old David John Trovillion from Montreal, WI was sentenced last week in Gogebic County on two separate felony counts related to the possession of methamphetamine in the City of Ironwood in April 2025 according to Nicholas Jacobs, Gogebic County Prosecuting Attorney.  Trovillion was a passenger in a vehicle which was stopped for traffic violations as well as probable cause to believe that drugs were being transported into Gogebic County following a month’s long investigation by the Gogebic-Iron narcotics team also known as GIANT. Trovillion was sentenced to prison by Judge Michael K. Pope. For the Possession of methamphetamine within 1000’ of school property charge Trovillion was sentenced to 5 years, 11 months minimum to a maximum of 30 years, enhanced as being a habitual offender. On a Resisting and obstructing an officer charge he was sentenced to 1 year minimum to 2 years maximum. At the time of arrest Trovillion was out on parole in Wisconsin and had pending misdemeanor charges in Iron County, WI.
