WISCONSIN - Wisconsin has recorded a total of eight snowmobile deaths since January 1st, compared to 11 deaths for all of 2025. The DNR said it’s not clear what’s behind the increase in deaths, but more favorable snow conditions compared to previous winters, is resulting in a lot more trail activity. The DNR reminds snowmobile operators to have headlights on, obey stop signs, and stay on marked trails.
