IRONWOOD – Much needed snow is on the way for the new year.  A dip in the Jetstream will funnel much colder air into the U.P. which will result in much needed Lake Effect Snow for the Western U.P.  Light snow begins tonight and continues tomorrow. Then, moderate to heavy intensities develop tomorrow evening into Thursday. Snowfall between tomorrow and Friday will range around a foot for the higher elevations of Gogebic and Ontonagon Counties with 6 to 8 inches of snow likely for most areas.
