ASHLAND - An Ashland County Circuit Court judge has determined that a Bayfield man is not competent to stand trial on drug charges. Robert Charette Jr., 55, faces 12 charges including drug possession with intent to deliver, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a drug trafficking location as well as disorderly conduct and domestic abuse. Judge Kelly McKnight committed Charette with periodic evaluations. His case has been suspended with a review scheduled in March and the court will again determine Charette’s competency.
