N. WISCONSIN - A man from Clinton Township in Macomb County has been given a $50,000 cash bond after he was arrested and jailed in Oneida County for allegedly threatening county circuit judge Michael Schiek and the publisher of the Lakeland Times, Gregg Walker. Peter Gruich, was arrested and charged with making threats to a judge and threatening injury or harm via computer. In investigating the threats, Detective Sergeant Gary Loduha made the connection between events mentioned in the emails sent to Judge Schiek and Gregg Walker to social media posts made by the owner of Minocqua Brewing Company, Kirk Bangstad. While investigating, Sgt. Loduha discovered that Gruich had been on the radar of the Sterling Heights Police Department in 2012, 2018 & 19 and was known for making violent threats. In addition to posting a cash bond, the judge ordered that Gruich not use or access to the internet and to have no contact with the victims.
