LAKE NEBAGAMON - A tower climber died after falling about 100 feet from a communications tower in Douglas County in Northwest Wisconsin.  The accident happened 10:30 a.m. Monday on Industrial Park Road in Lake Nebagamon.  The man has been identified as Gere Walden from South Carolina. CPR was started and an AED was used, but he died from his injuries on scene.  According to data from OSHA, Walden is the first reported fatality from a communications tower incident in the U.S. this year.  Walden was employed by Cross Communications, which is a telecommunications construction company based in Tennessee.  Walden was wearing a climbing hardness when he fell.
