IRONWOOD - The Friends of the Gogebic County Fair Board appointed Chairman Jim Gribble and Secretary Lori Bennetts as Fair Board representatives to the Gogebic and Iron County Horse Council Advisory Board. The appointment of a representative to the Gogebic County 4-H Council Advisory Board was postponed until pending background checks could be completed. The board tabled a proposal to change the open horse show age division date from Jan. 1 to Aug. 1, which 4-H coordinator Ashley Dennis warned could confuse families. Other discussions included adding advertisements to the 2026 Premium Book, financial matters, and logistics, noting the petting zoo company used last year now offers bounce houses and dunk tanks as well, and potential 2026 fair updates.
