LAC DU FLAMBEAU - History has been made in Wisconsin with the first known elected Native American District Attorney in Wisconsin.  Rebecca Maki-Wallander is a member of the Lac du Flambeau Tribe.  In 2017, Maki-Wallander worked in Adams County, Wisconsin as the Assistant District Attorney and was later appointed to DA in 2022. During the November 5, election she became the first known Native American DA to be elected into the position.
