GOGEBIC / ONTONAGON COUNTIES – The 2025 Firearm Deer Season in Michigan started Saturday and Gogebic and Ontonagon Counties are off to a good start.  Over the first weekend in Gogebic County there were 94 antlered and 5 antlerless deer harvested for a total of 99 according to the DNR website just before sunrise this morning.  In Ontonagon County 236 antlered and 55 antlerless deer were harvested for a total of 291.  The Michigan gun deer season runs until the end of the month; hunters are reminded to report deer kills to the DNR on their website or through the DNR app.  Wisconsin gun deer season starts on Saturday.
