BAYFIELD - A Bayfield man has been charged with disorderly conduct, resisting and obstructing and throwing/or discharging bodily fluids at an officer. A bartender at the Creamery in Bayfield called police mid-October to report a fight at the bar. Jacob Caughey, 27, ran out of the bar after a scuffle. A sheriff’s deputy caught up with him and detained him. Caughey was extremely intoxicated and became uncooperative after he was secured by handcuffs in front of him. When the deputy said he was going to cuff him behind his back, Caughey swung at the deputies and tried to escape. He was tackled and continued to be combative, spitting at the deputy several times. He was tasered by a Red Cliff Police Officer and then checked by Bayfield Medical Services and was arrested. Caughey is scheduled to appear on 19th.
