VILAS COUNTY -  A 40-year-old Vilas County man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possessing child pornography. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Jack McBride will also serve 20 years of supervised release. The investigation began in March 2025, when the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office received two tips about his online conduct with minors. A search of two cellphones uncovered the illegal material. The case was investigated with the Wisconsin Department of Justice as part of a nationwide effort to combat child exploitation.
