N. WISC / UP - The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail today, and post offices will be closed, except for limited package delivery in observance of a National Day of Mourning for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who died on December 29th. President Joe Biden has declared the day of mourning for a president who was “a man of character, courage and compassion, whose lifetime of service defined him as one of the most influential statesmen in modern history.” Although not a national holiday, federal offices will be closed as well as the New York Stock Exchange. Other delivery services such as FedEx will operate as usual.
