N. WISCONSIN -  The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is asking the state legislature to provide $69.2 million to keep the FoodShare program operating through June 2027.  The funding request comes as federal requirements shift more administrative costs to states and impose new penalties for program errors. FoodShare, Wisconsin’s version of SNAP, helps nearly 700,000 residents access food.  Wisconsin has historically maintained one of the lowest error rates nationwide.
