BESSEMER – A Gogebic County Man was sentenced yesterday in Gogebic County Court on several sexual misconduct charges against children.  24-year-old Asher J Carlisle, from Bessemer, Mi was sentenced on a total of six separate felony counts related to the possession and dissemination of child sexual abusive material, and criminal sexual conduct according to Nicholas Jacobs, Gogebic County Prosecuting Attorney.  Carlisle was arrested in March 2025 on an active warrant due to a probation violation in Gogebic County for using social media, which was a violation of conditions of his probation from a previous conviction for Criminal Sexual Conduct-4th degree charges.  Upon searching Carlisle’s Snapchat account numerous chats, photos and videos with minor children believed to be from out of the area containing child sexually abusive materials were found.  Also, during the investigation several local male juveniles disclosed sexual acts committed on them by Carlisle during the summer of 2024 and 2025 which led to additional charges for criminal sexual conduct of a person under age 13.  Judge Michael Pope sentenced Carlisle with 10 years 10 months minimum to 20 years maximum for Using a computer to commit a crime: 5 years minimum to 10 years maximum for the Accosting children for immoral purposes charge and 2 years minimum to 4 years maximum for Child sexual abusive activity on the separate count of possession of Child Sexual Abusive Material charge.  On the Criminal sexual conduct-2nd degree, two separate counts charge Carlisle was sentenced to 5 years 11 months minimum to 15 years maximum years.  Carlisle will also be required to register as a convicted sex offender. The sentences imposed will run concurrently.
