ONTONAGON - A Wisconsin man has died in a snowmobile accident along the Bill Nichols trail. Friday, the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s office responded to the call of a snowmobile accident on Trail No. 3 near the county line. Officers found a 44-year-old man from Green Leaf, Wisconsin deceased upon their arrival. Officials believe speed may have been a factor in the crash. The Ontonagon County Sheriff was assisted by the Michigan State Patrol, Aspirus Medivac, Twin Lakes Fire and Rescue, and the Ontonagon County Medical Examiner. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. No other information has been released.
