BAYFIELD / ASHLAND COUNTY - The Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office announced that K-9 Parker retired this week.  He has been on the squad for six years, helping with numerous drug seizures, searches for suspects, and finding missing people.  The sheriff’s office said K-9 Parker was the first police K-9 in the sheriff’s office’s history and has helped mold the K-9 program they have today.  Officials shared that K-9 Parker retired due to unexpected health problems, but he will now enjoy the days at home with Sergeant Dave Renz.  Meanwhile, in Ashland County K-9 Chase worked his last shift this past week.  K9 Chase has worked with the Ashland police department for nine years and has helped Ashland County and other counties when needed.  K-9 Chase will now get to stay at home and relax with his handler, Officer Nick Ovaska.
