PHILLIPS — A part-time Phillips police officer is facing felony misconduct charges after investigators say he repeatedly had sexual contact with a woman while on duty — and falsified activity logs to cover it up.  According to a criminal complaint, 31-year-old Connor Newman was charged in Price County with three counts of felony misconduct in public office and one count of obstructing a police officer.  The alleged misconduct took place from early July to early August 2025.  The officer also is alleged of turned off his computer to hide his location, alerting the woman, a known drug user, to body cam on calls, falsifying his daily activity log and more.  Newman could face more than 10 years in prison if convicted on all charges. He is scheduled in Price County Circuit Court again on Nov. 24. Newman started at Phillips PD in March 2025 and had previously worked at Vilas and Oneida County Sheriff's Offices.
