MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say Morgan Geyser who admitted to nearly stabbing a classmate to death in 2014 to please the horror character Slender Man has been found in Illinois after she cut off an electronic monitoring device and left a group home. Madison police issued an alert Sunday for Morgan Geyser, saying she was last seen around 8 p.m. the night before with an adult acquaintance. Police in Posen, Illinois, south of Chicago, confirmed that the 23-year-old woman was found at a truck stop and taken into custody Sunday night. Geyser was placed in a group home after being granted conditional release from psychiatric hospital. She was sent there in 2018 after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide.  Yesterday Tom Tiffany representative for Northern Wisconsin and Republican candidate for Governor her blaming escape on weak judges, who refuse to hold criminals accountable.

IRONWOOD – Ironwood gas prices dropping below $3 per gallon ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.  Drivers are now paying an average of $3.11 for a gallon of regular unleaded gas. Michigan’s average is $3.07 per gallon.  In Upper Michigan, the lowest average is in Marquette County at $2.81. The highest average is in Mackinac County at $3.27.  Ironwood prices at $2.88 per gallon.

GOGEBIC / ONTONAGON COUNTIES – The 2025 Firearm Deer Season in Michigan started Saturday.  Since yesterday morning there were only 6 deer harvested in Gogebic County for a total of 213 so far this season (207 antlered and 6 antlerless) according to the DNR website just before sunrise this morning.  In Ontonagon County numbers show 31 antlered total deer harvested since yesterday morning for a total of 351 (340 antlered and 11 antlerless).  The Michigan gun deer season runs until the end of the month; hunters are reminded to report deer kills to the DNR on their website or through the DNR app.  Wisconsin gun deer season starts tomorrow.
