EXTREME HEAT WARNING

IRONWOOD – Records were set across the U.P. and Northern Wisconsin yesterday for high temperatures.  The official High temperature yesterday in Ironwood was 99 degrees with Bessemer hitting 100 degrees yesterday afternoon before temperatures dropped into the 70s overnight across the region breaking records for highest low temperatures.  An EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING...for most of our listening area.  Temperatures expected back into the mid-90s today with a heat index values between 98 and 105.  Some relief tomorrow with highs in the Mid 80’s with lower humidity levels and comfortable weather conditions near normal in the mid to upper 70s Thursday through the weekend.  We could see smoke from wildfires to our Northwest lead to unhealthy air quality later this week and this weekend.
