N. WISCONSIN - Members of the town Boards of Arbor Vitae, Lac du Flambeau, Minocqua and Woodruff met as the Lakeland Airport commission on the 19th. Airport administrator Jon Schmitz gave an overview of what’s going on at the airport, including the reconstruction project for the two runways, which is finally at the bidding stage. Another project, construction of eight new hangar lots at the airport is still waiting to be put out for bids. The overall cost of the runway reconstruction is around $4 million, $100K of which the airport has to match. The board approved the overall budget of $290,824.00, $120K of which will come from matching funds from federal and state programs.
