N. WISCONSIN / U.P – Expect to pay more to heat your home this winter.  New projections from the National Energy Assistance Directors Association shows heating costs will rise 8.7% overall.  Households that use oil to heat their homes will face the highest jump at 30% more than last year.  Those that heat with electricity could see a 9% jump, Propane users will see an increase of about 8%, those that heat with Natural gas will see the lowest predicted increase at 5.8%.  Winter heating costs have gone up by about 24% over the last 5 years.
