WASHBURN - After more than 10 months without a full-time administrator, Washburn has hired Jim Filby Williams as its top official. He previously served six years as Duluth’s director of property, parks, and libraries. He has more than 25 years of experience in local government, non-profit, and conservation. Filby Williams began his new job August 24. His hiring follows Randy Friday's resignation in October of last year and a city review of its leadership structure. The Common Council recently approved a new structure with a full-time administrator, clerk, and treasurer.
