IRON COUNTY - Rails to Trails Conservancy announced its 2026 Trail Grants program recipients—and the Hurley Montreal Trail was selected! A grant of $10,000 will go to the City of Hurley to purchase the three miles of Soo Line Railroad grade between Hurley and Montreal, including the Hurley Overpass West railroad bridge built in 1896.  Since 2008, Rails to Trails Conservancy has distributed more than $4.5 million in grant funding across more than 310 organizations.
