UPPER MICHIGAN - Michigan Connect has announced that it is now offering a temporary expansion to students 21 to 24 years of age. The offer applies to new and students already enrolled in college but do not yet have their degree. Application for the program must be submitted by December 31st and must submit an application for federal student aid, otherwise known as FAFSA and must enroll in school no later than the summer semester of 2025. The offer of free tuition is for students enrolling in community or tribal colleges within their districts. Four-year colleges and universities are not eligible. Students can study toward and associate degree while also attending training toward a non-degree program, like cosmetology or welding. Students would not be qualified to take a specific major. Students from outside a college district can use the Michigan Reconnect program at a reduced rate of $59 per credit our. For more information, see micollege-access.org/refs.
