CALUMET - A man is in custody following a standoff with police Calumet that started Monday morning.  Police say deputies responded to a report of a fire in the roadway with “nails intentionally scattered” across the road.  After deputies tried to make contact with a potential suspect, the man locked himself in his garage and refused deputy commands. He later left the garage with a knife and entered his home, where he allegedly pointed a firearm at a deputy.  The Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team came to assist.  After a short time, the suspect exited his home and was taken into custody without further incident.  The name of the suspect hasn't been released.
