LAC DU FLAMBEAU – In a news release yesterday The Lac Du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa announced the Tribe has expanded into Oneida and Iron counties.  In the release, the Tribe says it has successfully added 2,455 acres to the reservation since 2019. The release said: “This expansion is especially historic as it extends borders into Oneida County and Iron County for the very first time. These efforts not only reclaim pieces of our ancestral homeland but also ensure that future generations will continue to benefit from the protection and stewardship of our lands.”  The release also says that over the past six years, 30 Tribal members have purchased property with guidance from the Land Management team.
