GOGEBIC COUNTY - As the last big travel weekend of the summer approaches, MDOT is removing lane restrictions from 91 of 156 statewide road and bridge projects over Labor Day weekend to ease traffic delays. Restrictions will be lifted from 3 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Tuesday, though some equipment, temporary shifts and shoulder closures may remain. M-64 in Gogebic County will have one lane of alternating traffic at Bingham Creek via temporary signals. US-2, also in Gogebic County, will have one lane of alternating traffic between Sampson Road and Great Lakes Road via a temporary traffic signal. Drivers should slow down and stay focused in remaining work zones.
