IRONWOOD - The former Northland College assistant hockey coach, Paige Moilanen of Ashland, has joined the Ironwood Lumberjacks as an assistant coach overseeing goalies. The Lumberjacks are a Tier II Junior A team in the Superior International Junior Hockey League or SIJHL, part of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. Moilanen played goalie for four years at UW-Eau Claire after a season at NCAA D1 University of Minnesota-Duluth, earning first-team all-WIAC honors for three seasons and holding the Blugolds’ all-time saves record. The Lumberjacks open their season at home against the Thunder Bay Northstars on the 19th & 20th at 7 p.m. at the Pat O’Donnell Civic Center in Ironwood, Mich.
