SAXON – Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers is demanding answers from Enbridge, alongside other Wisconsin officials who say Enbridge should halt construction on the Line 5 pipeline reroute after a natural gas spill in Iron County. The Aug. 25 incident happened when an unoccupied semi-truck rolled into an excavation and struck the pipeline near Saxon, releasing natural gas liquids. Nearby homes were evacuated, but no injuries were reported. The DNR is seeking more information and says construction should stop until the spill is resolved and safeguards are in place.
