VILAS COUNTY - The town of Plum Lake in Vilas County has decided to redraft an ordinance that would allow for full public access on roads in town to ATVs and UTVs.

A full list of roads that would be open to public access must still be compiled, and will need some additional attention, since there are roads in town that are gravel, and the wear and tear could cost more upkeep for the town. Roads also leading to wetlands and forest would most likely be excluded. Roads that go through state-owned property and those without private property owners will have restricted access. The draft of the ordinance covers the benefits and the detriments of full access. That ordinance will be presented to the town board on Wednesday.
