NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP - The Michigan legislature continues to work towards finalizing a state budget. Lawmakers have until Oct. 1 to pass a budget to avoid a state government shutdown.  Governor Whitmer released her budget recommendation in February, which totaled $83.5 billion.
