TOWN OF PHELPS — Information has been released regarding a fatal accident in Vilas County.  Just after 6:25 a.m. last Tuesday, Vilas County Dispatch received a 911 call for a one-vehicle crash on State Highway 17 near Hansen Hill Road in Phelps, according to a Vilas County Sheriff's Office news release.  A 31-year-old Rhinelander man identified as Carter Wiegand of Rhinelander died in that crash on July 29. According to the news release, the caller saw a truck in the ditch that had struck a tree.
