OCONTO COUNTY - The Wisconsin Department of Health Services confirmed the first measles cases in the state in 2025.  Oconto County Public Health confirmed nine cases of measles. One of the cases were confirmed through testing. Eight other cases were confirmed based on exposure and symptoms. All of the cases are believed to have been exposed to a common source during travel outside of Wisconsin.  No public points of exposure have been identified, and health officials believe the risk to the community is low.  The CDC reports more than 1,300 cases of measles across the U.S. so far this year.
