ASHLAND - The Chequamegon Humane Association has received a $14,000 donation from the 100 Who Care Ashland and Bayfield County giving circle organized by the NorthLakes Community Clinic to help cover veterinary care and shelter costs. The funding will support animals like the 16 beagles recently rescued from Ridglan Farms. The giving circle operates by having members pledge $300 a year that is then split into $100 per category, with three votes held per year: Art, History, Literacy, Museums, Environment, Animals, Garden, Recreation & Social Services. The idea is that by funding these groups, in turn it fuels community health. Organizers say the group has raised more than $150,000 for local nonprofits over the past three years, helping support organizations that strengthen community health and well-being
