WESTERN U.P. - A recent survey by the Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress (UPCAP) revealed that less than one-third of veterans in the U.P. are receiving adequate dental care from the VA. To address this critical issue, UPCAP is urging veterans to share their experiences and will be hosting two Oral Health Care forums next week. The forums aim to gather valuable testimonies and provide immediate dental health resources to veterans. Frank Lombard, UPCAP Upper Peninsula Veterans Program Manager, emphasized the importance of veteran input. “We really want to hear from them,” Lombard stated. “It’s their testimonies and experiences that are going to carry the most weight in this effort to expand veteran dental access.” Ironwood’s forum is next Tuesday, August 5th, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT at the Lindquist Center of Gogebic Community College, and a forum is scheduled in South Range on Wednesday, August 6th, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET at VFW Post 6165.
