VILAS COUNTY - A Vilas County man was found dead inside his home early Friday following a house fire in the Town of Washington, according to the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies reported the fire just after 5 a.m. at the intersection of Wild Eagle Lane and Chain O Lakes Road. Firefighters arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. Once the blaze was under control, crews discovered 36-year-old Thomas A. Neddo’s body inside the residence. Responding agencies included the Eagle River, Conover, Phelps, and Three Lakes fire departments, Wisconsin Public Service, and Eagle River Ambulance. The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation fire marshals are assisting the Sheriff’s office with the ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire.
