DETROIT (AP) — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has endorsed Rep. Haley Stevens in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate over progressive Abdul El-Sayed. Whitmer said in a video posted on X on Friday that “Just like me, Haley will do whatever it takes to get things done for the people of Michigan.” Stevens is in a tight nomination race against El-Sayed, who is supported by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. The Aug. 4 primary winner will face Republican Mike Rogers.
