IRONWOOD -  To honor the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Stormy Kromer has released a limited-edition cap. The cap’s dark navy and black colorway and custom patch pay tribute to the freighter’s final port of call in Superior, Wisconsin, and the 29 crew members who died on Nov. 10, 1975. Gina Thorsen, CEO of Jacquart Fabric Products -Stormy Kromer’s parent company, said the idea for the cap came from a team brainstorming session. She noted that the tragedy holds significant meaning for many and in researching commemorations, the team discovered that Friends of the Fitz, is fundraising for an official Wisconsin historical marker in Superior, and so Stormy Kromer will donate $20 from each cap sold to support Friends of the Fitz and the marker project, which is set for installation on Nov. 9th at Barker’s Island in Superior, Wisconsin.
