ASHLAND - A contract with an architecture firm has been signed to begin work on the renovation of the Vaughan Public Library in Ashland. Engberg Anderson of Milwaukee has been engaged to do the work. The funding for the work on the 19th century era building will come from a $4.3 million loan the city has secured for the renovation and modernization. The first phase of the renovation calls for improvement of code compliance, energy efficiency, waterproofing the foundation, adding fire protection, updating electrical systems, repairs to the face and replacing windows. The first phase is expected to cost just over $388,000 and should begin in January 2025.
