WESTERN U.P. - Former Houghton County attorney 60-year-old Evan Dixon, was ruled competent in 97th District Court Friday.  Dixon is charged with first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of 53-year-old Theron Duncan in a bathroom in November of last year. Gogebic County District Court Judge Anna Talaska referred Dixon to a competency exam in January.  Dixon is set to appear for a preliminary exam on June 28 at 10 a.m.
