N. WISCONSIN / U.P. - Gas prices in Michigan are up 9 cents on average from a week ago, local prices dip under $4.00 a gallon late last week. Michigan drivers are paying an average of $4.10 per gallon for regular unleaded. This price is 42 cents less than this time last month but still 82 cents more than this time last year. Ironwood prices at $3.92 a gallon down about 10 cents from this time last week. Around the region Watersmeet $4.04, Bergland $3.99, Mercer prices at $3.87, Mellen and Minocqua $3.65, Ashland $3.55, Glidden $3.50, The lowest price in the region again this week is in Park Falls at 3.47. AAA projects that more than 2.4 million Michigan residents will travel by car over Fourth of July week with gas prices about 80 cents a gallon more this year compared to last year in the week ahead of the holiday.
