N. WISCONSIN - Wisconsin DNR researchers are launching a climate change study on Escanaba Lake, using specialized equipment to examine how warming temperatures could affect fish and lake ecosystems. The research is part of the Northern Highland Fishery Research Area, where five protected lakes, Palette, Nebish, Mystery, Spruce, and Escanaba, have provided 80 years of valuable fisheries data. Officials say the long-term research, along with information collected from anglers, helps guide fisheries management across Wisconsin.
