ASHLAND - What steps might be needed to keep the mission of Northland College alive after it closed this past Spring were discussed at the annual Northland Together 2025 event. Dozens of alumni and former faculty and staff gathered to participate in alumni-led events, including discussion about what’s next. The newly formed Northland Collaborative has submitted a proposal asking to use some of the buildings on campus. The Collaborative hopes to start a micro-college. Several other groups, like the Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute and the University of Wisconsin Community Development Center have submitted requests to establish on campus as well. All are waiting for responses to their requests from the Northland Board of Trustees.
