VILAS COUNTY - Northwoods tourism continues to grow as visitor spending reaches new records. WinMan Trails in Vilas County reports visitation is up nearly 10% this year, generating an estimated $5 million for the local economy. Tourism now supports more than 2,100 jobs in Vilas County. Despite inflation and higher gas prices, tourism leaders say the Northwoods remains an attractive driving destination and expect a strong summer season as long as the region continues to offer a high-quality visitor experience.
