WAKEFIELD - A Special Summer Snowmobile Event This Weekend in Wakefield?

Starting today and running through the weekend, Wakefield is hosting an International Water Cross Association event. About 100 competitors are expected to race their specially modified snowmobiles next to the north side beach of Sunday Lake. The amateur races start around 5. There’ll be a meet and greet social from 6 to 7 and then live music until 10. Racing starts at 11 am on Saturday and Sunday, running til around 4 pm. There’ll be live music again on Saturday night. The Wakefield Fireworks Committee is sponsoring the event and will be hosting food trucks. Burgers, brats and beverages will also be available.
