MINOCQUA - Last week, the Oneida County Planning and Development Committee once again denied Kirk Bangstad’s application for a conditional use permit or CUP to open a beer garden at his Minocqua Brewing Company. While Bangstad’s attorney proffered argument that he was almost fulfilling the conditions of a previous CUP that had been revoked, committee chairman Scott Holewinski said he and the committee were not concerned about the technical details of the process, but rather that Bangstad had repeatedly refused to comply with past and current regulations, violating every permit he’s been issued and violating in the present, as he is open and conducting business without a permit and openly flaunting the fact on social media. Bangstad was not present at the meeting and at the end of it all, the committee said he did not have a conditional use permit and was therefore in violation of county ordinance.
