BAYFIELD - Bayfield has a new chief judge in the 10th Judicial District.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court appointed Bayfield Circuit Court Judge John P. Anderson to the position. The 10th Judicial District is made up of 14 counties, including Ashland, Bayfield and Iron. Anderson has served as deputy chief judge since 2018, and Douglas County Circuit Court Judge Kelly Thimm will take over that role. Anderson will assume his duties on August 1st when Barron County Judge Maureen Boyle’s six-year term ends. Anderson will continue to serve as Bayfield County Circuit Judge.
