ASHLAND - Got hazardous materials you need to get rid of? The 30th annual Cleansweeps Hazardous Materials Collection is scheduled for Saturday, from 8 am to noon in the Ashland High parking lot. There’ll be a orange signs at the entrance of the lot, red canopy and banners designating the collection area. There will be volunteers to help direct residents to unloading zones. This year, there will be a one-time, free collection of electronic devices as well. The event is free to households for most items, although there are fees for light bulbs, batteries and for small quantity generators such as farms and businesses. Farms and businesses must pre-register by contacting Colin Barrington at Veolia Environmental Services, at colin.barrington@veolia.com. Anyone bringing prescription medication will receive a free donut from the Ashland PD. For more information go to ashland.extension.wisc.edu and click on community development.
